Let well alone (оставить в покое) — в XVIII в. это был девиз британского премьер-министра сэра Роберта Уолпола (1676—1745), но как пословица это выражение было известно ещё в XVI в. В Великобритании в настоящее время слово leave часто заменяется архаичным let (современное leave me alone! звучало когда-то как let me alone!), но в США слово let всё ещё употребляется.

If your washing machine works reasonably well, I would suggest that you don't interfere with it. Leave well alone. — Если ваша стиральная машина работает достаточно хорошо, я бы посоветовал не трогать её. Оставьте её в покое.
